Message from Our CEO

On April 8th, 1942, Sasebo Harbor Transport Co., Ltd. was established as a company to handle cargo at Sasebo Port by request of the Japanese Navy at the time.
Even after the war ended, the company continued to conduct all cargo handling work within Sasebo Port. In 1964, we obtained licenses to conduct General Port and Harbor Transport Business, Inboard Cargo Handling Business, as well as Coast Cargo Handling Business, and since then, we have obtained licenses to conduct Barge Transport Business, and Customs Business, resulting in our company in its current form.

Currently, we handle a wide variety of work, including the unloading of steel materials and pipes in the Maehata-Hizukushi area of Sasebo Port, as well as shipping agent work and orders for business related to various types of cargo handling at company-internal, private berths on the premises of Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Iknow Machinery Co., Ltd., and the Matsuura Thermal Power Station.

On April 2019, we launched our “Vision Meeting” to review the vision of the future that our company should pursue, and within that meeting, we came to place importance on people, customers, communities, and shareholders as part of our business philosophy.
We also hold being “Sasebo Port’s good company” as our target vision, and after deciding on three goals (to improve our business strength, improve quality control, and to foster dignity for our company), we will deploy six concrete measures

"Sasebo Port" is our company’s home, and we will continue to seriously engage in our company’s business, doing what we can to stimulate the region.
